Conversion and MIlling Converting starch to sugar is a complicated molecular process but as brewers we witness the simplicity of that process by milling grain, mixing in hot water and waiting for the magic to happen. I've never been asked that question, but in response to "is the bag strong?" I say, "the material can not be ripped by any man I know, (meaning the phone book rippers may be able to rip the bag, but I don't know any of them) and because of the strength and composition of the fibers, it will not rip - even after being cut.
